Wasn't Selena Gomez just saying she's constantly being told she's "not sexy enough?" We can't imagine anyone will continue to say that after seeing the 21-year-old's photo shoot for Flaunt magazine.... Shot by Amanda de Cadenet, the photos feature Gomez lounging on a bed in lacy black lingerie, or an oversized sweater and donning a short black wig with blunt bangs. Gomez may not normally show as much skin as some of her peers in the music industry, but it's safe to say she can pull off sexy when she wants to. For more photos of Selena getting in touch with her sexy side, head over to Flaunt.

What is surprising about an image of Jennifer Lawrence—ensconced in the fuselage of a private jet, wearing a simple white tank, gold chain, and blazer—like the one the Oscar-winner posted to her... Facebook today? Nothing, really, if it weren’t for the noticeable absence of her celebrated blonde waves.Surprise! I have a pixie cut!
What is perfectionism and workaholism vs. a simple desire to do your best and succeed? And, what happens when our obsession with perfection begins to actually undermine us or interfere with our... emotional health? The experts of at Huffington Post put together a list of 14 signs your need to be flaw-free has gotten way out of control. Some clear indications? One, you're highly critical of others. The age-old adage that we cannot accept in others what we refuse to accept in ourselves is undoubtedly more true than not. So, if you resent the fact that you have trouble going to the gym in the morning, and you find yourself vocally criticizing your partner for being too lazy to get up, that might be a sign that you're taking out your perfectionist tendencies on someone else. Also,...
He may not be the most down-to-earth designer, but even Karl Lagerfeld isn't a fan of too much Photoshop in fashion shoots. During a talk with actress Jessica Chastain at Lincoln Center last night,... the Chanel designer took a surprising stance on retouching, lamenting the common practice of Photoshopping models beyond recognition. According to Fashionista, Karl stated: "[We are] easily in a period of over-retouching... Some models [end up] look[ing] as if they are coming out of a funeral parlor, all life taken out of the face, I hate that." It's a somewhat surprising comment coming from Karl, since more often than not, he appears to be more out-of-touch with industry realities than in tune with them. He's dismissed the rampant issue of body and eating disorders in fashion, once remarking...
A day of competition includes meeting with a model, having your design inspected by a formidable panel and gaining some personal insight from a judge.
Last night's WSJ. Innovator Awards were all about breaking new ground, so it seemed only right to poll guests on innovations they've contributed to the world. Answers ranged from cookie recipes... "I never liked being photographed. I just happened to be good at it," Jean Shrimpton told The Guardian in 2011. A reluctant icon she might be, but that just makes us love her even more.

This episode of American Horror Story: Coven goes all Ya-Ya Sisterhood on us and dives deep into the complexity... of the mom-daughter relationships that frame every family of witches and murderesses. Also, regular humans, probably. Anyway! On to the recap. We've flashed back to antebellum Louisiana, and it's still All Hallows' Eve. Delphine is hosting yet another masquerade ball and sizing up suitors for her daughters. She invites one hapless chap into her Chamber of Horrors (a line that unavoidably recalls the "musty old claptrap" joke on Arrested Development). "I'd fairly swoon when I see the moment of terror register on a handsome face," she tells the suitor. Fellas, if your prospective mother-in-law...
Let's face it. We all have two personalities. We are professionals when we are at work. And while at home, we are just us -- a fashionista, an artist, a city slicker, a tomboy or a bohemian goddess.... It's really when we're at home, for the majority of us, that our true style comes out. We shed our work 'uniform' for something far more familiar and comfortable. What if I told you that dividing your personal styles between work and home is a thing of the past? What if your weekend fashion and your work fashion became one? For everyone who struggles to find a personalized way to express themselves in their workplace, here are a few examples that can help you introduce your inner self into your work 'uniform', all while staying perfectly professional. Anytime Anna Wintour is seen chatting up a Hollywood starlet the rumor mill starts churning about a possible Vogue cover. So when the editrix, who isn't known for her warm and fuzzy personality, was... spotted sharing a laugh and a photo with "12 Years a Slave" actress Lupita Nyong'o, it got us wondering if the Kenyan beauty would be gracing the glossy sometime soon. The faithful encounter took place Tuesday night in New York City where the two ladies were on hand for the 2013 Museum Of Modern Art Film benefit, "A Tribute To Tilda." The 30-year-old star, who stepped out in a Chanel Couture black metallic high-neck dress and silver double-breasted silver jacket, has some major sartorial skills -- which we're sure Anna has picked up on. Couple that with her stunning good looks and all signs...

Thoughts on Catching Fire, its media machine and the world at large. If you live in NYC and take the subway, you might have noticed lately that every time it stops, no matter where you are on the... train, Jennifer Lawrence is aiming an arrow at you. I'm sure the entire North American landscape is similarly blanketed with billboards and bus stop signs. I don't mind, in fact, I'm happy to see her. I usually can't sustain anticipation weeks in advance for a film, but Catching Fire's an exception. I devoured all three Hunger Games books, and though I don't know how a movie could live up to such phenomenal hype, I can't wait. The trailers look stunning. After finding out who's playing the new characters, I had to find out about their incredible costumes. A search led me to Capitol Couture. If...
Every great artist relies on their tools to help them achieve their vision. A makeup artist is no different. Whether you're a virgin experimenting with makeup for the first time or a senior artist... working your magic on models backstage at Fashion Week, you need at least a few key makeup brushes to create a beautiful look. While the pros know what they are doing, us regular folk could use a lesson or two on using brushes. MAC Cosmetics is one step ahead of us in the department. No, they aren't sending their artists to our front door (we wish!), but it is the next best thing. They have redesigned the makeup brush to make application effortless and consistent for everyone. Introducing: Masterclass Brush, the future of makeup brushes. The three-piece collection features a new brush head and...
Photo: Via The Atlantic. The long-embattled Employee Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) was passed today in the Senate by a 64-to-32 vote. The Democratic caucus led the way, with 10 Republican senators... joining after the Senate avoided a filibuster earlier in the week. "Let the bells of freedom ring," said Republican Senator Jeff Merkley at a press conference earlier today. "We have fought to capture that vision of equality, and liberty, and opportunity, and fairness embedded in our founding documents, in our founding vision. We've taken a huge stride today in that direction." One giant stride, but it's also one small step. The legislation now moves on to the House, but things don't look as rosy on that side of the hall, where Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor have both...
Every timeless brand faces the same challenge: How do you inject it with modern-day appeal, while still maintaining the label's signature style? But, Etienne Aigner's creative director Daniela... Bardazzi seems to have a natural flare for striking this delicate balance. Her stints at Michael Kors and Isaac Mizrahi may have prepared her for the business of fashion, but her style and creative eye are an art form all her own. Our visit with Bardazzi confirmed what we've suspected all along: that girls do, in fact, run the world. And, we may have hit her up for some wardrobe advice. When in Rome, right?

PHOTO: BERETTA/REX USA. Mama's a stunning supermodel. Daddy's a luxury footwear executive. And, Grandpa? Oh, he just so happens to have the fashion world in the palm of his hand. Folks, we've got the... fashion royal birth of the century! According to a gleeful announcement posted on his Facebook page (guess he ran out of monogrammed Smythson stationery), Berluti executive Antoine Arnault is expecting a child with Russian supermodel Natalia Vodianova. No doubt his dad, LVMH head Bernard Arnault, is already having the Louis Vuitton diaper bags whipped up. "Giving a little brother or sister to Natalia's three wonderful children is something we wanted so much: AND NOW IT'S HAPPENING," Arnault gushed. "We're going to have our first baby next year!!! #4 for her but #1 for me... I'm a little...
You know, when word first started to spread of Hurricane Sandy here in NYC over a year ago, we weren't really worried. We joked. We called it Frankenstorm. We treated it like a fun snow day, where we... planned to stay home and watch movies and eat night cheese in broad daylight. Of course, it turned out to be incredibly unfunny. That's why we have nothing funny to say about Typhoon Haiyan, a truly groundbreaking meteorological event making its way ever nearer to the Philippines. The storm has reportedly registered as 8.1 out of 8 on the Dvorak scale. It's predicted by experts to be one of the worst storms in history. In the Philippines, a country of 98 million people packed into 115,000 square miles of islands, there is obviously an enormous task at hand when it comes to ensuring the safety...
We know, it's a little bit early in the season to be talking about Love Actually. Normally, we like to hold off on our first yearly viewing until after Thanksgiving, but this is a special occasion.... Today marks the tenth anniversary of the film, which means that we're officially old. It also means that we've had 10 years of adorably twee British accents, broken-Portuguese proposals, and "Jump (For My Love)" on a constant loop. We'd be hard-pressed to find a person who doesn't hold this movie in a special place in their hearts; or, at the very least, to find a person who doesn't get a kick out of Alan Rickman. Aside from providing endless holiday cheer, there are also plenty of lessons to be learned from Love Actually. And no, we don't mean lessons in British potty mouths. We're talking...
