Ohio State Is Jacking Up Ticket Prices Again, but It's Actually a Good Move
Bleacher Report - 23 Jan 2013 19:56Ohio State football is about as big-time as it gets in college football. The Buckeyes routinely compete for conference championships, routinely haul in one of the best recruiting classes in the nation... and routinely sell out Ohio Stadium, a behemoth of an arena that seats 102,329 fans. Combine that with a highly lucrative television revenue deal with the Big Ten, and the Buckeyes athletic department's pocketbooks will essentially never be empty. So, naturally, Ohio State is likely to raise ticket prices. Here's more from the Columbus Dispatch: The school's Athletic Council will make a recommendation on Friday to the board of trustees on an increase in ticket prices. One possibility is an increase to $79 per general-public ticket, from $70, a rise of almost 13 percent. Also being considered...
Mike Napoli Signs 1-Year Deal: How Avascular Necrosis Affects His Contract, Hips
Bleacher Report - 23 Jan 2013 23:59When trades and free-agent signings are announced, almost everyone dismisses the phrase "pending a physical" without much thought, yet Mike Napoli's diagnosis of avascular necrosis (AVN) reminds us... that those physicals make up an important part of a contract. Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reported early Wednesday morning that Napoli reached a deal with the Boston Red Sox, but it is not the deal everyone originally expected last month. Napoli and the Red Sox first agreed to a three-year, $39 million deal in December pending a physical. However, following his diagnosis, Napoli signed a revised one-year, $5 million deal on Jan. 22--a deal that also includes $8 million in potential incentive bonuses. That means that Napoli has the same earning potential this year--$13 million--as his...

SB Nation - 23 Jan 2013 23:55Despite Inter scoring another goal late in the first half -- Rodrigo Palacio is really good at getting those goals against Roma -- the first 45 minutes belonged to the home side. Eden Hazard sent off for kicking ballboy in League Cup semifinal
SB Nation - 23 Jan 2013 23:52Eden Hazard was shown a red card for kicking a ballboy on Wednesday. Quickly, here's some background. In the first leg of their League Cup semifinal tie against Swansea City, Chelsea shockingly lost... 2-0 at home, meaning they needed to win by two goals to force extra time in the return leg at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday. Swansea defended very well to keep Wednesday's score 0-0 -- thus keeping a two-goal lead -- and had Chelsea extremely frustrated when the ball rolled out for a goal kick in the 77th minute. The Swansea ballboy decided to waste time by refusing to give Hazard the ball when he ran over to retrieve that. That didn't go over well. GIF from @bubbaprog. Hazard will earn an automatic three-game suspension for getting sent off for violent conduct, and given that he lashed out...
