Since completing the most remarkable season for an expansion team in the N.H.L. or any sport, Vegas Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee has had little time to rest on his laurels.

Backup goalie Eddie Lack, who appeared in four games for the New Jersey Devils last season, has re-signed, general manager Ray Shero announced Saturday. The team acquired Lack from Calgary in December.

A person with direct knowledge of the move says the Detroit Red Wings have agreed to terms with defenseman Mike Green on a $10.75 million, two-year contract.

Goalie Carter Hutton, who had a 17-7-3 record with a 2.09 GAA last season, is likely to sign with the Sabres when free agency begins Sunday.

The Canadiens have traded prospect Simon Bourque, a sixth-round draft pick in 2015, to the Jets in exchange for two players and two draft picks.

The Los Angeles Kings announced Friday that they've reached agreement with Drew Doughty on an eight-year contract extension that will keep the defenseman with the team through the 2026-27 season.
