‘Hello Dolly’ casting announced for Ford’s Theatre and Signature Theatre co-production

Well, hello Nancy! Ford’s Theatre and Signature Theatre, co-producers of a revival next March of the Jerry Herman hit musical from the ’60s, “Hello, Dolly!”, say they have found their Dolly Levi. It’s veteran Broadway actress Nancy Opel who’s been cast as the meddling matchmaker from Yonkers, a part originated on Broadway by Carol Channing and subsequently played on stage and film by, among others, Pearl Bailey, Ethel Merman and Barbra Streisand.
