19 years ago, id Software revealed its first first person shooter to follow up its groundbreaking Wolfenstein 3-D. That follow-up was called Doom, and it enthralled players when it came out. When I was 14, I was one of those players. I spent hours playing id Software's games, which were enthusiastically passed back and forth in my Junior High School thanks to the new (at the time) shareware model of game distribution.
