Funk and soul singer Marva Whitney, a collaborator with James Brown, passed away this week due to complications from pneumonia, Rolling Stone reports. She was 68. A note on the official Facebook page for the singer reads: "We're saddened to inform you that Soulsister #1 Marva Whitney passed away last night. She left us with a legacy that will shine forever.
