The opening of a Whole Foods Market store in the "food desert" of Detroit is a welcome development for a downtrodden city where "fresh-produce deserts" and "food insecurity" are daily realities and the emergency financial manager may want to peddle the resident Van Gogh -- housed at the Detroit Institute of Arts -- to pay off some bills.
