Today Is The 30th Anniversary Of The First USFL Championship Game

Thirty years ago on July 17, 1983, the Michigan Panthers beat the Philadelphia Stars, 24-22, in the first USFL Championship Game in Denver. Panthers' QB Bobby Hebert earned MVP honors, tossing three TD passes, including the game-sealer to Anthony Carter early in the fourth quarter.
