This week, Edwidge Danticat has published a gorgeous, melancholy novel called "Claire of the Sea Light." It's about a little girl and her troubled neighbors in a small Haitian village. (You can read my review here in today's paper.) The whole time I was reading it, I kept hearing the sentences in Danticat's soft, melodious voice.
