It is both fitting and slightly ironic that Charlayne Woodard's first words, at the start of "The Night Watcher," should be "Out of the blue . . . ." Fitting, because that phrase suggests a fluid, propulsive energy like the one she brings to this funny, bruisingly poignant one-woman show, which tells of her relationships with various children -- children who, in some cases, seem to have invaded her life out of the blue.
