When Terry Chiao moved into a former Brooklyn textile factory, she realized she needed a roommate, and therefore some privacy. Instead of putting up typical walls, the artist built herself a treehouse and a cabin for a roommate. Now that she lives with her partner, they rent the cabin out on Airbnb.
