NASA's IBEX Helps Paint Picture of the Magnetic System Beyond the Solar Wind

NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center: NASA's IBEX shows an interstellar magnetic field that is nearly perpendicular to the motion of our solar system through the galaxy. This helps explain why we see more cosmic rays on one side of the sun than the other.
