Before & After: From Heavy Hutch to Modern Kitchen Island

This heavy kitchen hutch was no doubt functional -- with drawers and doors it's got plenty of storage. But its dark color, outdated look and heavy feel wouldn't make it welcome in any kitchen, let alone a bright one. That's why Elise made some changes, and this hutch has been converted to a handy modern kitchen island.
