Heparin might be the key to prevent prion conversion and disease

(Publicase Comunicação Científica) A new study published ahead of print in The FASEB Journal shows that heparin interactions with the terminal domains of a prion protein impair its conversion into scrapie prion, preventing its aggregation in the brain.
