TV highlights: 'The Story of the Jews' begins

Historian Simon Schama's "The Story of the Jews" (MPT & WETA at 8 p.m.) explores the many effects Jewish history and culture has had on the world. Tonight's two-part special begins 3,000 years ago with the emergence of a tribal people in a contested land and the writing of the Hebrew Bible. The second part of the story, which will be three hours, will air April 1.
