New map exposes previously unseen details of seafloor

(University of California - San Diego) Scientists at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego and their colleagues have created a new map of the world's seafloor. Twice as accurate as the previous version, the new map features a much more vivid picture of seafloor structures, including thousands of previously uncharted mountains.
