After all is said and done — decorations hung, candy bought and costumes worn — celebrating Halloween adds up to more than just a few scares. This year, the National Retail Federation's annual Halloween consumer survey found that 67.4% of Americans celebrating the holiday will buy costumes, with the average spending per person coming to $77.52.
