The air was a perfect 70-something degrees and filled with music. But Aisha Brownlee was still annoyed. The 21-year-old, who graduated from Howard University last May, had trekked to Southeast D.C. for the MeccaFest, an all-day rap concert organized by a group of Howard alumni after the university announced that Yardfest -- a free annual, historically thrilling homecoming extravaganza held on the campus quad -- would no longer host live music.
