Historic White House shovel stole the spotlight of Kennedy Center ceremony

There were so many oohs and ahhs, you would have thought it was a baby that Kennedy Center Chairman David Rubenstein was showing off to the crowd. But it was a shovel -- a spade, really -- though an old and historical one. And right after the garden tool's big reveal, its business end was shoved into a patch of black dirt as cameras flashed and cheers erupted.
