The global debt market lost steam by the end of 2014, with companies raising a little over $1.26 trillion through debt issues over the fourth quarter of 2014 compared to $1.32 billion for the previous quarter and $1.28 trillion for the year-ago period. Thomson Reuters' quarterly report published late last week highlighted that Q4 2014 was the slowest for global debt offerings in three years - taking some of the sheen off what was an otherwise strong year for debt originations worldwide.
