D.C. area writer wins $15,000 book prize

Alexandria writer Leslie Pietrzyk has won the annual Drue Heinz Literature Prize for a book of short stories. The award, which is open to writers anywhere in the world working in English, includes a book contract from the University of Pittsburgh Press and $15,000.
