Maddie & Tae show what it's really like to be a girl in a country song at the Fillmore

The high point of the singers-songwriters roundtable at the Fillmore on Friday came when the youngest act onstage, Maddie & Tae, gave an unplugged rendering of "Girl in a Country Song," the single from the fall that introduced them to the masses that listen to country radio. It's about the raw deal that female characters get in contemporary country music of the sort that dominates the playlist of WMZQ (98.7 FM), the local station that sponsored the Silver Spring shindig.
