Brooklyn Rider string quartet provides two hours of unalloyed listening joy

Brooklyn Rider, the string quartet from Brooklyn everybody talks about, played a concert at the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue on Saturday night under the auspices of Washington Performing Arts. The only common denominator of their program, 12 new works created between 2012 and 2014, was that everything was written for string quartet. Played with complete commitment, sympathy and fierce virtuosity, the evening was two fascinating hours of unalloyed listening pleasure.
