Excepting some odd lot traders, almost everyone pronounces Schlumberger correctly, using the soft “g.” Whenever oil futures crash, however, I revert crossly to the hard “g.” Schlumberger becomes just another cyclical growth stock periodically encountering sleeping policemen in a stretch of road, holding down its momentum. Last year’s earnings peaked at $5.57, but it could be 2017 before SLB approaches that number, again.
