Muse meets 'Drones': More prog-rock paranoid fantasties

Prog rock was already in decline when the Sex Pistols pushed it off a cliff sometime in the winter of 1977. By the mid-'80s, only commercially-minded, less fanciful prog bands such as Genesis and Rush retained their positions in music's upper ranks. These days, although the genre has found a foothold in the outer precincts of metal (Opeth, Mastodon) and math nerd indie rock (Coheed and Cambria), the British band Muse are the only prog superstars minted in the last 15 years.
