San Francisco-based engineering studio Divergent Microfactories has unveiled the world's first 3D-printed supercar, the Blade. Centered around the premise of 3D-printed aluminum joints that connect pieces of carbon fiber tubing to create the chassis, the process is not only environmentally-friendly by dramatically reducing energy usage during manufacture, but also makes the chassis a whopping 90% lighter than traditional cars.
