Oil spill in natural wonder, the Great Barrier Reef, under investigation

It is one of the world's most unique natural environments, but the Great Barrier Reef was put at risk Friday when an oil slick was discovered south of Townsville, Australia. With the world’s largest collection of coral reefs, the marine area is extremely sensitive to pollution and disruption. Fourteen ships are now being investigated for possibly causing the spill near the World Heritage listed area, the Brisbane Times reported.
