British house producer Leon Vynehall got it all on tape

It has been about five years since the lowly cassette tape made its unexpected rebound from near extinction. What have we learned since then? First, cassettes are dirt cheap to make, so underground musicians are making them like crazy. They're also highly portable, slippable into back pockets and easy to peddle at gigs. And to trendy retro-fetishists drawn to cutesy tactile consumer goods, they're as alluring as exposed-filament light bulbs and reclaimed wood furniture.
