Researcher documents gender, class bias in enforcement of quarantine law

(University of Kansas) A University of Kansas researcher has documented examples of how quarantine of individuals infected with venereal diseases continued well after World War I and how these laws were generally enforced along lines of gender and class, especially punishing poor women.
