The dark clouds once above Tobias Jesso Jr. seem to have lifted. The lanky Canadian, who performed at the 9:30 Club on Saturday night, constructed the material on his debut album, "Goon," from three ingredients: voice, piano and the pain of heartbreak. In concert, Jesso expanded the songs with the contributions of his backing band -- six members of Duk, an eclectic L.A. octet -- and tempered their doleful sentiments with good-humored banter.
