Note: This post is an updated version of the viewing guide I wrote last year. Sunday night (Dec. 13) marks the peak of what is arguably the best meteor shower of the year: the Geminids. Last year in the space of a couple of hours I saw over 80 before losing track, and many of them were really bright and spectacular.
