Porsche Goes Back to Its Roots with the 911 R

Porsche builds one for the purists with the new 911 R, a "Racing" edition of its iconic 1967 homologation car. The new 911 does this by paring back: excess weight has been eliminated by removing the vehicle's backseats and raft, while using carbon fiber, magnesium and polycarbonate materials for the chassis.
