Panera beats Street 1Q forecasts

SAINT LOUIS, Mo. _ Panera Bread Co. on Tuesday reported first-quarter net income of $35.1 million. The average estimate of 15 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.50 per share. Eleven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $675.5 million.
