(Case Western Reserve University) Researchers at Case Western Reserve University developed a technique that produces a long chain molecule in the shape of a trefoil knot. They're now using a $300,000 NSF grant to scale up the work to make molecular knots that are expected to produce different physical and chemical properties in plastics, coatings, rubber, composites and more.
