IRS Categories Certain 831(b) Captive Insurance Companies As A "Transaction Of Interest"

I'll write more on this later, but for now note that the IRS has released Notice 2016-66, as found at or and which names certain captive insurance companies qualifying under Section 831(b) as a "Transaction of Interest".
