Advanced analytics to identify risk of potentially inappropriate prescription opioid use

(University of Arizona Health Sciences) The UA College of Pharmacy's Jenny Lo-Ciganic, PhD, has been awarded a $100,000 grant to evaluate Medicare administrative claims data for more than 3 million beneficiaries and generate accurate prediction algorithms of inappropriate opioid use that can better guide payers and health-care providers to implement effective interventions.
