Thousands of kids, adults participate in Tokyo's annual New Year calligraphy contest

Three thousands kids and adults across all age ranges gathered in Tokyo's Nippon Budokan martial arts hall to participate in the country's annual New Year calligraphy. Each age group received a different word, which they drew out on large pieces of paper (to then be judged), in what marks the first piece of calligraphy drawn for participants in 2018.
