(Science China Press) The research teams led by Dr. Weiqiang Yu at Renmin University of China and Dr. Pu Yu at Tsinghua University succeeded in implanting protons into iron-based superconductors by using ionic liquids. Various bulk high-Tc phases were found in the protonated materials. This technique not only provides an efficient carrier doping method, but also allows for rich bulk spectroscopy studies. This work is highlighted by Dr. Hideo Hosono in the same issue of the Journal.
