Blocking two enzymes could make cancer cells mortal

(Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) EPFL scientists have identified two enzymes that protect chromosomes from oxidative damage and shortening. Blocking them might be a new anticancer strategy for stopping telomerase, the enzyme that immortalizes tumors.
