Christie's Looks Back at Douglas Kirkland's Intimate Shoot with Marilyn Monroe

Celebrity photographer Douglas Kirkland was 27 when he got his biggest break just a few years into his professional career: photographing the sultry Marilyn Monroe for Look magazine'a 25th anniversary issue. Prior to this assignment, he was a staff photographer for the magazine for only 18 months. But that fateful November night in a rented Hollywood studio remains his most exhilarating challenge to this day.
