Hospital patient portals lack specific and informative instructions for patients

(Regenstrief Institute) Regenstrief Institute research scientists Joy Lee, PhD, and Michael Weiner, M.D., MPH, conducted a study of hospital patient portals, the secure online websites that give patients access to their personal health information. Among their findings: over half of the 200 patient portals they studied lacked specific instructions on how the portals should be used.
