In true Frankenstein fashion, researchers create living machines from frog embryos "Xenobots" are hybrid robot-organisms that can heal themselves because they are made of living tissue. Researchers from Tufts University, the University of Vermont, and the Wyss Institute at Harvard used an evolutionary algorithm to design the xenobots out of  cells from frog embryos.
