(Kobe University) Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a chronic liver disease often associated with diabetes. However, it is unclear how NASH develops and there is currently no approved medication for the disease. A research group including Members of Kobe University's Graduate School of Medicine has clarified the mechanism behind NASH and diabetes. It is hoped that the pathway uncovered in this study will provide potential target for the development of new medications for these conditions.
