Microgel immuno-acceptance method could improve pancreatic islet transplant success

(Georgia Institute of Technology) Researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology and University of Missouri have developed a new microgel drug delivery method that could extend the effectiveness of pancreatic islet transplantations -- from several years to possibly the entire lifespan of a recipient.
