Crystals may help reveal hidden Kilauea Volcano behavior

(Stanford University) Stanford researchers used millimeter-sized crystals from the 1959 eruption of Hawaii's Kilauea Volcano to test models that offer insights about flow conditions prior to and during an eruption.
