How many mothers have lost a child: A global comparison

(University of Southern California) Mothers in several African countries are more than 100 times more likely to have had a child die than mothers in many Asian and European countries. The study estimates the prevalence of child loss in 170 countries, providing the first global analysis of maternal bereavement.
