Anti-Asian hate crimes reported to the NYPD skyrocketed 833% last year compared to 2019, with three anti-Asian crimes reported in 2019 and 28 in 2020. The latest anti-Asian numbers, as of April 11, 2021, saw 54 anti-Asian hate crimes reported to the NYDP, compared to 12 by that date in 2020 -- an increase of 350%.
