AirPods and HomePods can't stream the new lossless Apple Music

Just as rumors claimed recently, Apple announced lossless music streaming support for Apple Music this week. The upgrade comes free of charge to all Apple Music subscribers, Apple announced. Apple will use a new codec, Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC), for its catalog of more than 75 million songs.
