A novel tuberculosis regimen shortens treatment course for patients

(Medical University of South Carolina) A phase III clinical trial led by an investigator at the Medical University of South Carolina found that a novel four-month regimen was just as effective at treating tuberculosis as the standard six-month regimen. The findings are reported in the May 6, 2021 New England Journal of Medicine.
