Documentary photography plays an integral role in shaping the world's ideals and fighting oppression. A good story can open our eyes to things we didn't see, even though they were already in plain sight. As powerful as it may be, I believe photographers in this field get a little more leeway than they should, especially when it comes to the quality of the photography.
